Police say that they believe two men were primarily responsible for the robbery.

Iowa City Police are looking for an additional suspect after making an arrest in a robbery earlier this morning that involved men being beaten with a large liquor bottle as well as hitting and kicking them as they were down.

According to an Iowa City Police media release, at 2:47 a.m. this morning Iowa City Police officers responded to the 600 block of E Bloomington St. for a report of a robbery that had just occurred.

When officers arrived, they found two men there with multiple head and face injuries. According to the men, they had been walking home when three people: a black man, a white man, and a black woman approached them, confronted them, and then attacked the pair by hitting them over the head with large liquor bottle and then hitting and kicking them. The men told police that some of the people involved then stole personal belongings including an undisclosed amount of cash.

Both victims were then taken by the Johnson County Ambulance Service to the University of Iowa Emergency Treatment Center for treatment of their injuries, which are believed to be non-life threatening.

Further investigation by police revealed that two more males may have been involved in this incident and they searched the area and located the suspect's car. Surveillance was set up and the two suspects later reappeared. When officers approached, both subjects fled on foot, but were quickly caught.

Investigation into the matter determined two of the males were primarily responsible for the robbery. One of those males is 17 years old and as a juvenile his name will not be released at this time, according to the release.
The other male was identified as Quran Rahmel Holt, 19. Both subjects were charged with the following charges: first-degree robbery, a class B felony; willful injury, a class D felony; rioting, an aggravated misdemeanor; interference with simple acts, a serious misdemeanor; public intoxication (for the juvenile only), a simple misdemeanor; and Holt was charged with an additional possession of drug paraphernalia charge.

In addition, one of the other males was identified as Keeynan D. S. Williams, 18, and he was arrested and charged with interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor. The other two people involved were released without charges at this time.
