The Wedge Downtown to Carry Heyn's Ice Cream (in 24 Flavors) Starting Tuesday

On Friday I wrote a story on the final day of Capanna in its downtown Iowa City location next to the Iowa City Public Library.

In that article I wrote:

Steve Harding of the Wedge could have some ideas for some dessert options to replace the gelato, but that will have to wait until another day. He declined a request for an interview with a tired smile, noting that managing the transition from Capanna to a larger Downtown Wedge on Friday was taxing for him as well.

Well that wait is already over, as Heyn's Ice Cream announced on its Facebook page that it would be filling the gelato void: 

They [the Wedge] will be carrying 24 flavors starting on Tuesday Just in time for Friday night concert series! We are so excited to now have our ice cream in the downtown area, and to be working with The Wedge

The Wedge will still serve coffee offered by Capanna as well, in addition to the food options already offered by the downtown pizzeria previously. To keep up with their updates you can follow them on Facebook as well.
