The FY 2023 budget includes no new positions. Increases are associated with operating costs for two new City facilities (Fire Station No. 1 and the Marion Public Library). The budget also includes expenses for the Marion Municipal Airport, an increase in the cost of bus service, part time library employee wage increases and continued investments in information technology. The proposed budget contains increased operating costs as a result of supply chain issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as lasting impacts of the derecho.
