• Gophers eyeing late addition to 2026 recruiting class (yardbarker.com) — A Waukee standout, safety Tavian White, is already part of Minnesota’s 2026 recruiting class, and the Gophers may not be done adding to their secondary. They’ve now offered Omaha safety Bryson Williams, recently released from his Iowa State commitment, as they continue to build a nationally ranked class ahead of February’s traditional signing period. 
• Iowa license-plate cameras may be invading your privacy, ACLU claims (desmoinesregister.com subscription) — Waukee is among several central Iowa suburbs using automated license-plate cameras, which a new ACLU-backed report says may threaten residents’ privacy without stronger state rules. The report urges communities to pause contracts and presses lawmakers for clearer limits on how camera data is stored, shared, and used across Iowa.
