• Waukee superintendent retiring after 2025-26 school year (kcci.com) — Waukee Schools superintendent Dr. Brad Buck is retiring from public education on June 30, 2026, ending his tenure leading the district through major growth and the pandemic. He’ll become Executive Director of the School Administrators of Iowa, while the Waukee school board begins the search for his successor at a special meeting Monday.
   

• Iowa license-plate cameras may be invading your privacy, ACLU claims (desmoinesregister.com subscription) — Waukee is among several central Iowa cities using automated license-plate cameras that civil liberties advocates say may threaten residents’ privacy. A new ACLU of Iowa and University of Iowa report urges communities to pause contracts and calls for statewide rules on how camera data is stored, shared, and used by law enforcement and vendors like Flock Safety.
