• Iowa bird rehab overwhelmed by avian flu calls (kcci.com) — Waukee residents are among those increasingly calling wildlife rehabilitators about sick and dead waterfowl as avian flu cases rise around the Des Moines metro. Experts urge people not to handle birds themselves, to keep pets away, and to report clusters of dead birds to Iowa DNR or contact rehabilitators with photos or video so they can safely assess the situation.
