• Medical director at Des Moines area health spa fined $10,000 by Iowa Board of Medicine (weareiowa.com) — A Waukee medical spa’s director has been fined $10,000 by the Iowa Board of Medicine for not spending enough time on-site supervising staff and reviewing services. Investigators found he was mostly working remotely and only at the Waukee clinic a few hours a month, but new requirements now mandate at least four hours of weekly in-person oversight and closer chart review.
