Chisholm Place Seniors Reconnect at Senior Prom
Seniors with Dementia Celebrate Prom with Loved Ones in Wichita
Dressed in bowties and boas, seniors with dementia kicked up their heels at their own senior prom at Chisholm Place, an Anthem Memory Care community. The residents and their dates enjoyed music and decorations in keeping with the dance’s theme “Through the Decades.”
The seniors and staff prepared for the event weeks in advance by crafting boutonnieres and decorating the walls to represent different decades.
“This was a chance to recapture a wonderful moment in time for our residents,” said Hope Clark, life engagement director. “Dancing helped connect the seniors with their family members and brought them pure joy.”
