Mouse poop by desserts, cockroaches, old meats & cheeses at Wichita restaurants (kansas.com) — State inspectors recently cited several Wichita-area restaurants and a hotel for issues ranging from mouse droppings and cockroaches to old food, poor cleaning and missing sanitizer. Most problems can be fixed quickly, and follow-up inspections are already scheduled, but residents can also file complaints or check inspection results online to monitor local food safety.
   

2. Wichita woman scammed out of $158 by Lyft driver using fake photos (kwch.com) — A Wichita woman says a Lyft driver falsely accused her of vomiting in his car, triggering a $158 “damage” fee backed by photos she later discovered were taken from the internet. Her case highlights a rideshare scam seen nationwide and includes tips from the Better Business Bureau on documenting rides and disputing bogus charges.
   

3. Wichita joins national tribute to fallen soldiers with wreath-laying event (ksn.com) — Wichita will join more than 5,000 locations nationwide this Saturday to honor fallen soldiers by placing wreaths on their graves as part of Wreaths Across America. Local organizers say the ceremony offers residents a chance to reflect on sacrifice, teach younger generations about service, and recognize heroes including a Medal of Honor recipient and Civil War soldiers.
   

4. Another Soaring Month For Salina Flights (ksal.com) — If you’re flying out of south-central Kansas, Salina’s United Express flights are growing fast and often undercut fares from Wichita by up to $75. Passenger counts, on-time performance, and new routes to Houston and Chicago are all climbing, giving Wichita-area travelers another competitive option within driving distance for national connections.
