Meet A Future Leader In Wichita: Vatedis Coleman

The future of Wichita is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Vatedis Coleman, who are making a positive impact in and around Wichita.

Vatedis, a graduate of Wichita Southeast High School, is an exceptional young leader in Wichita. As a recipient of the prestigious Rudd Scholarship, he is one of only 15 students who were selected for this full-ride opportunity. Currently an Aerospace Engineering student at Wichita State University, Vatedis is also gaining invaluable practical experience as a NASA Jumpstart Intern, where he contributes to cutting-edge projects. In addition, Vatedis has earned the Adelante Scholar distinction, reflecting his commitment to community and personal development.

Beyond his academic and internship achievements, Vatedis is actively involved in the aviation industry. He works as a part-time Aircraft Mechanic at Kansas Copters & Wings, where he applies his technical skills to ensure the safety and reliability of aircraft. His responsibilities, including performing inspections, oil changes and compression checks, demonstrate his hands-on expertise and work ethic.

Vatedis' combination of academic excellence, industry experience and community involvement makes him a standout young leader who is well on his way to making significant contributions to both his field and his community.
