Gregory J. Wahl

Gregory J. Wall, age 65, of Joliet, IL and formerly Rice Lake, WI, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, November 19, 2018. Greg was born in Cumberland, WI on July 18, 1953, the son of John F. and Lucille (nee Dickman) Wahl, and was raised on a dairy farm in nearby Frederic, WI. He graduated with the Class of 1971 from Frederic High School and attended WITC.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Mary Jane (nee Lievens); his son, Damian; sister, Sylvia (Rodney) Chaplin of Frederic, WI; nephew, Joshua Chaplin; aunt, Mercedes Wickstrom; sister-in-law, Marie (Tom) Knorr of Joliet; and brothers-in-law, Dr. Michael (Julie) Lievens of Wichita, KS and Matthew (Janice) Lievens of Winston-Salem, NC. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Greg retired from Plainfield School District #202 and was previously employed as a diesel mechanic in Wisconsin for 32 years. An avid Green Bay Packer fan, he also enjoyed gardening.

Visitation for Gregory J. Wahl will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Ave., Joliet, IL, where a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Mt.
