• Labor board schedules hearing for contested UAW election at Kentucky EV battery plant (wkyufm.org) — A closely watched federal labor hearing is being held this week at the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce in Elizabethtown to decide contested ballots in the UAW union vote at BlueOval SK’s Glendale battery plant. The ruling could flip the outcome of the election and determine whether the massive EV facility becomes unionized. That decision will directly influence jobs, wages, and working conditions for many Hardin County and Elizabethtown-area families.
   

• Kentucky High School Transformation Work Group discusses how to encourage innovation in first meeting (kentuckyteacher.org) — A statewide work group on high school transformation is meeting to expand innovation and flexibility in Kentucky classrooms, and one of its key voices previously led Elizabethtown Independent Schools. Members are exploring policy changes, local “portrait of a learner” efforts, and ways to incentivize districts to try new approaches. Their work in 2026 could shape how Elizabethtown students experience high school.
