New housing for Owensboro's unhoused youth opening soon (14news.com) — A new Empowerment Academy residence in Owensboro is about to open, offering stable housing and support for 18-year-old high school students who lack a safe place to live. With 18 secure bedrooms, on-site laundry, and a full kitchen, the program aims to prevent youth homelessness and keep students in school. Leaders are still seeking a live-in resident director and donations of basic household items.

Boys basketball roundup: December 13 (owensborotimes.com) — Owensboro Catholic’s boys basketball team fell 82–72 at Muhlenberg County on Friday despite strong scoring from Braylon Coots and teammates.
