Flood Warning Issued For Counties In Western Kentucky: NWS

A wind advisory is in effect for most of the state until late Thursday with wind gusts of up to 45 to 50 mph expected from the storm.

PADUCAH, KY — The National Weather Service in Paducah issued Thursday morning for 18 counties in western Kentucky.

Urban area and small stream flooding because of heavy rainfall is imminent and could worsen because of excess runoff.

Ballard, Carlisle, Crittenden, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall and McCracken counties are under a flood warning until 5:15 p.m. Thursday, while flood warnings for Caldwell, Christian, Hopkins, McLean, Muhlenberg, Todd, Trigg and Webster counties expire at 6:45 p.m.

A flood warning for Fulton County will expire at 7 p.m.

The system has already brought between 1 and 2 inches of rain in most of the warned area and more is expected, including up to four inches in some areas, according to NWS.

Much of the rest of the state is under a wind advisory until 10 p.m. with consistent south winds of 15 to 25 mph expected, including gusts up to 45 to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service Louisville.
