Kentucky Corporate Investment Reaches $10.5B In Near-Record Year (businessfacilities.com) — Paducah is slated for a massive $1.5 billion uranium enrichment facility, part of a near-record $10.5 billion in private-sector investments across Kentucky this year. State leaders say these projects, including big automotive and logistics expansions, are expected to create thousands of jobs and deepen the commonwealth’s role in advanced manufacturing and distribution.

2. 'No kilt required, just fun to be had' – Annual Robert Burns Celebration approaches (wpsdlocal6.com) — Paducah-area fans of Scottish culture can look forward to Robert Burns Night on Saturday, Jan. 24, featuring dancing, live music, dinner, drinks, and poetry for $65 a ticket. Organizers with the Four Rivers Highlands Society also plan to revive Highland Games in partnership with Cassidy’s Cause, plus future Tartan Day, Samhain, and genealogy-focused meet-and-greets.
   

3. Kentucky's 2026 legislative agenda includes education, data centers, immigration and housing (wvxu.org) — Paducah residents may want to watch how Sen. Danny Carroll and other lawmakers shape Kentucky’s 2026 agenda on schools, data centers, housing, immigration, and Medicaid when the General Assembly convenes January 6. Proposals range from scholarship tax credits and universal pre-K to new rules for power-hungry data centers and tougher immigration enforcement, all of which could indirectly affect Paducah’s economy and services.
   

4. Pump prices down for the holidays (spectrumnews1.com) — Paducah drivers are seeing average gas prices around $2.282 per gallon, slightly below the statewide average as holiday travel continues. AAA reports that Kentucky and national prices have dipped to their lowest levels in years, thanks to cheaper oil and strong supply, giving local travelers a bit more room in their budgets.
   

5. Marolyn Molesworth, 84, of Paducah (wpkyonline.com) — Paducah is mourning the loss of 84-year-old Marolyn Molesworth, who passed away Monday at her home in the city. A devoted member of Lone Oak Church of Christ and animal lover, she leaves behind daughters in Paducah and Benton; services will be held Saturday, January 3, at Lone Oak Church of Christ.
