Paducah Parks and Recreation holds winter photography contest (wpsdlocal6.com) — Paducah Parks and Recreation is inviting residents to enter a Winter Photography Contest featuring scenes from city parks, running now through February 23. Locals can submit one photo taken in a Paducah park online or by email, with gift cards for the top three winners and future use of selected images by the department.

2. SWAT team called as Paducah police arrest two on Cruse Ave (wsiltv.com) — Paducah police arrested two people on Cruse Avenue Friday after a months-long investigation, briefly closing the street while SWAT assisted due to one suspect’s criminal history. Both individuals were taken to McCracken County Jail on existing warrants, and multiple serious charges are listed for one of the suspects.
3. Non-profits encourage community to keep up giving spirit (wpsdlocal6.com) — Paducah nonprofits like St. Vincent de Paul and Paducah Cooperative Ministry are urging residents to keep donating time, money, and food well beyond the holidays, when support often drops off. Leaders say even small monthly gifts or a single volunteer shift can make a big difference for families who need help every day of the year.
4. Education, data centers, immigration and housing: The 2026 Kentucky legislative agenda (lpm.org) — Kentucky lawmakers are gearing up for a busy 2026 session that could reshape education funding, housing policy, Medicaid oversight, guns, and immigration enforcement statewide. For Paducah residents, Sen. Danny Carroll is pushing a $75 million nuclear pilot plan that builds on new fuel-enrichment work in Paducah and could power future data centers across Kentucky.
