The state’s top business lobby will feature four of the declared Republican candidates for governor as speakers for its annual meeting in March.
The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry announced Thursday its confirmed speakers for the March 2 event are state Sen. Sharon Hewitt, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, State Rep. Richard Nelson and Treasurer John Schroder.
LABI president and CEO Stephen Waguespack will moderate the discussion at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Baton Rouge.
“As people and businesses flee California and New York, the South is booming, but Louisiana is getting left behind,” Waguespack said in a statement. “We are at a turning point, and the importance of this year’s election cycle cannot be overstated. We are thrilled to hear directly from these candidates, get insight on their policy priorities and learn how they plan to put Louisiana on the path to success.”
