Louisiana is hosting an online career fair next week to connect job seekers with digital, software development and information technology jobs in Baton Rouge, Bossier City, Covington, Lafayette and New Orleans.

Louisiana Economic Development (LED) announced in a press release Monday that five companies seeking to fill more than 50 positions have committed to participate in the career fair, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 15 via the virtual event platform Brazen. Participants can register in advance by visiting the Brazen registration page.

The companies participating include CGI of Lafayette, GDIT of Bossier City, Netchex of Covington, Rural Sourcing of Baton Rouge, and SchoolMint of Lafayette and New Orleans.

A variety of in-person, hybrid and remote positions are available, including database tech, mainframe support analyst, software engineer, software developer, help desk support analyst, TSS cyber analyst, financial analyst, sales coordinator and others. Internship opportunities are also available.

Through the Brazen platform, job seekers will be able to explore employers’ online booths, research companies and participate in one-on-one, text-based chats with company representatives, according to the press release.

Wesley Muller

Wes Muller traces his journalism roots back to 1997 when, at age 13, he built and launched a hyper-local news website for his New Orleans neighborhood. In the years since then, he has freelanced for the Times-Picayune in New Orleans and worked on staff at the Sun Herald in Biloxi, WAFB-9News CBS in Baton Rouge, and the Enterprise-Journal in McComb, Mississippi. He also taught English as an adjunct instructor at Baton Rouge Community College.

Among his recognitions are McClatchy's National President's Award, the Associated Press Freedom of Information Award, and the Daniel M. Phillips Freedom of Information Award from the Mississippi Press Association.

Muller is an alumnus of Jesuit High School and the University of New Orleans and is a veteran U.S. Army paratrooper. He lives in Louisiana with his wife and two sons.
