Assault Lands 3-Month-Old In ICU; Augusta Man Arrested: Report

The infant's 20-year-old father was taken into custody and charged in connection with the August assault, according to a report.

SKOWHEGAN, ME — A 2o-year-old father was arrested Friday after officials say he assaulted his 3-month-old son in August, according to a report.

Dakota Colson of Augusta is facing charges after an investigation found he assaulted his infant son while living with the child and the child's mother, WMTW in Portland reported, citing the Somerset County District Attorney's Office.

According to WMTW, the infant’s injuries were so severe he was taken to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. A judge also sealed Colson's affidavit due to the severity of the child's injuries as well as his age, the station reported.

Colson is facing charges of assault on a child younger than six and aggravated assault.
