• Adams Pond's usable water level higher than last year (boothbayregister.com) — Adams Pond, the main source for the Boothbay Region Water District, is holding more usable water than at this time last year despite ongoing extreme drought conditions. Trustees also heard updates on the Joppa Road water main replacement and early planning for future water quality testing and Squirrel Island infrastructure work. 
• Several Subway franchise locations in Maine shut down over registration issues (wgme.com) — Several Subway restaurants in Maine were abruptly shut down by state revenue officials over revoked business registration certificates, and Boothbay is listed among the other Maine towns with MTF-owned locations. While only certain shops were closed Wednesday, the broader franchise is clearly under scrutiny, with employees elsewhere reporting bounced checks and delayed pay.
