• Authorities investigating oyster gear theft in Maine (nationalfisherman.com) — Authorities are investigating the suspected theft of about 40,000 oysters and 14 aquaculture cages from a Falmouth site in Casco Bay, a loss valued near $20,000. Maine Operation Game Thief is offering a $5,000 reward for tips leading to a conviction, and residents are urged to contact Marine Patrol or submit anonymous information if they know anything.
   

• Monks Women Sweep Relays, Break Three School Records at USM Alumni Open (gomonks.com) — A Saint Joseph’s College women’s track athlete from Falmouth helped the Monks’ 4x400-meter relay win at the USM Alumni Open in Gorham. The team broke three school records, swept both relays, and posted several New England Division III provisional qualifying marks in sprints, distance, jumps, and throws.
