1. Spurwink to expand services to Lewiston (mainebiz.biz) — Lewiston will gain a 24/7 behavioral health crisis receiving center at 1155 Lisbon Street, expected to open in late May or early June 2026. Run by Spurwink with state and foundation support, the center will offer a home-like alternative to ER visits, with assessment, stabilization, and strong partnerships with Lewiston hospitals, police, and community agencies.
   

2. Former Lewiston man sentenced in 2024 shooting death at Hillview Apartments (sunjournal.com) — A Lewiston neighborhood is still feeling the impact of a 2024 shooting after a former resident was sentenced to 2½ years in prison, with most of his 15-year manslaughter sentence suspended. The case involved the death of 17-year-old Sahal Muridi outside his Hillview Apartments home on Rideout Avenue, a killing that deeply shook local families and youth advocates.
   

3. Lewiston weighs data center proposal for vacant Bates Mill 3 (newscentermaine.com) — Lewiston officials are set to vote Tuesday on a proposal to turn the long-vacant Bates Mill 3 into a 24-megawatt data center, backed by major tax breaks. Supporters tout new jobs and economic activity, while critics in Lewiston and Auburn warn about noise, water use, power demand, and a $3 million-a-year tax incentive they fear could burden local taxpayers.
   

4. Auburn to draft needle exchange ordinance, seeks public input (wgme.com) — Auburn officials are drafting new rules for syringe service programs and want public feedback at a City Hall workshop Monday at 5:30 p.m. The discussion comes as nearby Lewiston’s controversial one-to-100 needle exchange policy raised concerns about litter but was ultimately kept in place, highlighting different approaches to harm reduction in neighboring communities.
