1 Killed In Shooting On Portland's Woodford Street: Police
The shooting prompted police to close Woodford Street between Forest Avenue and Melrose Street on Tuesday.
PORTLAND, ME — One person was killed and another injured Tuesday in an early-morning shooting on Portland's Woodford Street, police said.
Officers were called to the 100 block of Woodford Street around 1 a.m. after an argument between several people ended in gunshots, authorities said in a news release. When officers arrived, they found a 43-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman in the roadway. Both had gunshot injuries, police said.
Officers rendered aid until the victims could be taken to the hospital. The man died from his injuries, police said. Meanwhile, the woman suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities.

Police did not release the names of the victims. A medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of the man's death, police said.
Authorities closed Woodford Street between Forest Avenue and Melrose Street on Tuesday so officers could complete an investigation into the shooting. Anyone with information that could help police should call 207-874-8575.
