Maine Hiker Falls From New Hampshire Fire Tower: Report

The man and his friend were hiking Mount Kearsarge North on Sunday when the fall happened, according to a report.

CHATHAM, NH — A Maine hiker was injured Sunday after falling from a New Hampshire fire tower while trying to take photos, according to a report.

The man and his friend were hiking Mount Kearsarge North when they decided to climb the fire tower at the summit to take pictures, according to a report by WABI 5 in Bangor, Maine. Investigators said the man fell from the top of the stairs and landed at the tower's base, WABI reported.
The man was airlifted from the summit of the mountain and taken to an area hospital nearly three hours after his fall, according to WABI.

His condition Tuesday was unknown.
