New Maine Fundraiser For Albion Victims
Supporters of Albion, Maine family who lost twin toddlers start fund campaign

A new fundraising campaign has been launched to help a northern-Maine family who lost two children to a suspected drunk driver.
"We're pleased to share that a new fundraiser has been established on our platform, AngeLink, by the Albion Christian Church to provide much-needed support," said Samantha Dacanay, website spokeswoman.
Two-and-a-half-year-old twins Bradley and Noah along with their mother Mollie Egold were struck July 11 in Albion by a car while she was taking them in their stroller to a local market.

Bradley died at the scene. Noah was transported to a Portland hospital, where he died July 15.
Egold suffered multiple injuries, leading to a long recovery and rehabilitation period.

Benjamin Lancaster, 44, was later nabbed and arrested on several charges including running from a fatal accident.
The new fundraiser "will primarily assist with Mollie's recovery and the family's immediate needs," Dacanay added.
"A portion will also cover memorial expenses and future home and transportation modifications to accommodate potential physical needs, therapy, and ongoing medical expenses.
"While many provisions have been donated, the family's additional needs will likely be substantial."
The new campaign replaces original GoFundMe effort, which has since closed. Donor funds were returned.
Julie McKenzie, the AngeLink fundraiser organizer, emphasized: “We are doing this new fundraising effort, with financial safeguards, transparency, and connections already in place.”
