Aberdeen Proving Ground To Hold Controlled Burns March 15
If weather conditions allow, controlled burns are planned Wednesday at the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center.

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD β If weather conditions allow, controlled burns are planned Wednesday at the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center. The burns will be set from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for management of downrange areas on the installation, APG officials said in a news release.
Efforts will be made to minimize the effect of smoke for both on-post and off-post residential communities, APG said. Prescribed burning is coordinated with the APG Fire Department and is the safest and most cost-effective way to maintain APG ranges due to unexploded ordnance concerns, officials said.
All controlled burns are implemented in accordance with a plan which addresses potential wildland fire risks and sustain mission landscape for testing and training activities.
