BALTIMORE, MD — A $1 million Powerball ticket was sold in Maryland on Sept. 2 and 12 other players in the state won sizable prizes in the frenzy to try to win the second-largest Powerball jackpot in history.

Saturday night's drawing will be split by winners in Missouri and Texas who matched all five white balls and the Power Ball to split a nearly $1.8 billion jackpot, Maryland Lottery officials said.

The winning numbers for Saturday’s drawing were 11, 23, 44, 61 and 62. The Power Ball was 17 and the multiplier was 02.

Powerball players in Maryland won more than $13.4 million in prizes in the 42 drawings since the previous jackpot was hit on May 31, including 37 prizes ranging from $50,000 to $1 million, the state lottery said. With roughly 25 cents of every dollar worth of Lottery sales directed to state programs and services, sales of Powerball tickets during the jackpot roll delivered an estimated $14.5 million in state funding.

Last week alone, a $1 million second-tier winning Powerball ticket was sold in Pikesville and 12 other Powerball players won $50,000 or more in Maryland, lottery officials said.

Across Maryland, and across all games (including Powerball), the Lottery paid more than $32.6 million in prizes during the week of Sept. 1-7, including 37 tickets worth $10,000 or more that were sold or redeemed in that seven-day span.
