'Flower Man' Goes Viral Throwing Petals, Dancing At Cousin's Wedding
When his cousin asked him to serve as the "flower man" in her recent Maryland wedding, Marcus Adams embraced the role and didn't disappoint.

MARYLAND — A Maryland man recently went viral after showing off his fancy footwork and petal-throwing skills at his cousin's July 1 wedding at Herrington on the Bay in North Beach.
When Brittany Waters-Havenhill asked her cousin, Marcus Adams, to serve as the "flower man" in her wedding a year ago, she knew he was just the person for the job.
"I knew he was going to kill it, but I didn't expect it to be such a hit and go viral. I had full confidence in him," Brittany Waters-Havenhill told Patch. "My cousin loves to dance and have fun, and we weren't having a traditional wedding, so it was a no-brainer to choose Marcus."

It was clearly a smart decision. When it was "show time" last week, Adams didn't disappoint. Video of him embracing the role of "flower man" and entertaining his cousin's wedding guests has attracted nearly 630,000 views on TikTok in just a few days.
"I was shocked because I didn’t expect it to blow up so big. I thought it would just get a couple of views," Adams told Patch. "They first asked me a year prior, but it was supposed to be two of us, but the other guy got promoted to the 'maid of honor' so it was just left with me, and I was really really nervous at first."

According to Adams, when he proudly accepted the position, he vowed to make his walk down the aisle a memorable one. With a beat in his step, he gently tossed the flower petals to the ground to the crowd's delight.
"He wasn't surprised at all [when I asked him]. He was more so concerned about what song to go down to," Waters-Havenhill said.
"When she asked me I was amazed and excited because I saw so many videos of people doing it and I always wanted to try it," Adams said.
Adams said zero preparation went into his entertaining walk down the aisle at his cousin's recent wedding. He merely went with the flow and hoped for the best.
"Honestly, I didn’t rehearse or prepare. We didn’t have any flowers because we forgot them at the hotel and the basket, too. But we got all that situated like two minutes before the wedding, so I just went out there and winged it," he laughed.
Since posting the video to TikTok, Waters-Havenhill said her following on the platform has grown substantially.
"I only had eight followers on TikTok, and now I have 4,000. We didn't expect it to get too crazy. Maybe get a few laughs," she said. "Only a few people knew he'd be the flower man so the guests were in complete surprise and I know they really enjoyed it. He's the talk of the wedding.
In addition to being the "talk of the wedding," Adams, who lives in Edgewood and works as a merchandiser for Canada Dry, may have found a new part-time gig as the "flower man." He is now accepting booking requests at FlowerDaddyMarcus@gmail.com.
