Maryland Matters To Co-Sponsor Candidate Forums For AG, Comptroller
Former Anne Arundel County Councilmember Michael Peroutka and former prosecutor Jim Shalleck are seeking the Republican nomination.

Maryland Matters is co-sponsoring three online candidate forums later this month: two for attorney general and one for state comptroller.

The League of Women Voters is the lead sponsor for the events, and Maryland Matters, Maryland Reporter, Maryland Nonprofits, Maryland Latinos Unidos and the University of Baltimore’s Schaefer Center for Public Policy are the co-sponsors.
Former Anne Arundel County Councilmember Michael Peroutka and former prosecutor Jim Shalleck are seeking the Republican nomination for attorney general in the July 19 primary, and they’re scheduled to participate in a forum on May 24 at 7 p.m. Register here by clicking this link.

A day later, on May 25 at 7:30 p.m., the Democratic candidates for AG, U.S. Rep. Anthony G. Brown and retired Judge Katie Curran O’Malley, will appear at the virtual forum. Register here for that event.
Maryland Reporter Editor Len Lazarick will serve as the moderator for the attorney general forums.
On May 31, the Democratic candidates for comptroller, Bowie Mayor Timothy L. Adams and Baltimore City Del. Brooke E. Lierman, will appear in a virtual forum at 7 p.m. Register here to watch this forum.
Maryland Matters Founding Editor Josh Kurtz will moderate the comptroller forum. The winner of the Democratic primary for comptroller will face Harford County Executive Barry Glassman, who is unopposed in the Republican primary, in the general election.
