$4K In Clothes Stolen From Department Store In Anne Arundel County: Police

Over $4,000 in clothes were stolen from a department store in Anne Arundel County, police said. The suspect, 40, was charged with theft.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police accused a man of stealing $4,404 worth of clothes from an Annapolis store recently.

Officers announced Monday that they applied for charges against Eric Richard Vaughan. The 40-year-old Stevensville man faces a felony charge of theft worth $1,500 to $25,000 and a misdemeanor trespassing charge, court records show.

Court records list the offense date as Oct. 3. Police said they were called Saturday.

Authorities said the suspect and an unidentified accomplice entered a department store in the 200 block of Solomons Island Road and stole clothing.

The suspects took 87 clothing items from the men's athletic department and swiftly left on foot without paying, police said.

Officers said video surveillance recorded the shoplifting.

The store's loss prevention team is familiar with the suspect, authorities said.
