5 Contested Races in City Council Election

With two democrats and three republicans all vying for Annapolis mayor, a primary election will decide who makes it to the general election in November.

As the clock struck 9 p.m. Monday, the deadline passed for those seeking to become the next members of the Annapolis City Council.

The following candidates will be on the ballot in the November city election:

Ward 2 Alderman
  • Frederick Paone (R)—incumbent
  • Kurt Riegel (D)
  • Timothy Mennuti (D)
Ward 3 Alderman
  • Rhonda Pindell Charles (D)
Ward 4 Alderman
  • Sheila M. Finlayson (D)—incumbent
Ward 5 Alderman
  • Jared Littman (D)—incumbent
Ward 6 Alderman

Primary election day is Sept. 16, and General Election Day is Nov. 5.
