AAMC Facing $28M in Cuts Due to Sequestration
Some positions are set to be eliminated as a result of the cuts, a hospital spokesman said.

Anne Arudel Medical Center in Annapolis is facing cuts of up to $28 million to fend off a budget gap due to federal sequestration.
The Capital Gazette first reported the spending cuts, which were a part of a six percent cutback across the hospital system. The cuts are intended to offset reduction in Medicare and state hospital reimbursement rates, as a result of federal sequestration, The Capital reported.
Hospital officials were working to fill a projected $35 million shortfall by the end of the fiscal year.
The cuts will likely result in reduced hours for employees and the elimination of some positions, hospital spokesman Chad Dillard told The Capital. But when possible, those personnel will be sent to other areas of the hospital system.
