ANNAPOLIS, MD — A Baltimore-based hospitality company will open another downtown Annapolis eatery this summer. This time, it will be a tavern, the business announced Thursday.

Atlas Restaurant Group is opening the second location of The Admiral's Cup at Annapolis City Dock. The other Admiral's Cup has been a waterfront staple in Baltimore's Fells Point neighborhood since the 1980s.

The Annapolis location of The Admiral's Cup will be situated in the historic Stevens Hardware building, which housed Mission BBQ until it closed in January 2024.

"We believe The Admiral’s Cup will fit in perfectly with the surrounding bars in downtown Annapolis," Atlas Founder and President Alex Smith said in a Thursday press release. "With its waterfront location, live music, and vibrant energy, it will be a great addition to City Dock and a place where both locals and visitors can come together to enjoy great entertainment and food."

This is Atlas' fourth restaurant in the works at Annapolis City Dock. The group also owns The Choptank.

Atlas plans to open an upscale Italian chophouse named Marmo and a Mexican cantina called Armada this summer where the former Pusser's Caribbean Grille was located. The Annapolis Pusser's was sold to two longtime employees, who decided to move the restaurant to Baltimore after Atlas outbid them for their space at 80 Compromise St.

"Guests can expect a rotating lineup of local musicians and a dynamic food menu and beverage program in a lively yet comfortable atmosphere that complements the spirit of Annapolis," the release said.
