Annapolis Police Investigate Thefts From Cars

Annapolis police are investigating numerous thefts from vehicles this week.

The five thefts mostly occurred over the weekend, according to the police department's daily crime briefing

The first reported was in the 400 block of First Street between 12:30 p.m., Saturday and 9 a.m., Monday. A burglar entered the vehicle and took a pair of Gucci sunglasses and a GPS device. Police said officers found no signs of forced entry.

A second theft occurred between 7 p.m. on Sunday and 8 a.m. on Monday in the 100 block of Quiet Waters Place. A burglar rummaged through glove boxes and center consoles on five unlocked vehicles and took money from at least one, according to police.

In the 200 block of Victor Parkway between 10 p.m., Monday and 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, a burglar entered an unlocked vehicle and took a purse that contained jewelry and a checkbook. The burglar also took a GPS and CDs, according to police.

Between 7:30 p.m., Monday and 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the unit block of Georgetown Court and took a pair of military pants and the victim's wallet, according to police. The Georgetown Court, Victor Parkway and Quiet Waters Place incidents took place not far from one another.

Sometime between Sunday and Tuesday, a burglar entered an unlocked vehicle in the unit block of Dewey Drive and took a laptop from the rear passenger seat, according to police.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP. Callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
