ANNAPOLIS, MD — Delays are expected Sunday for a running event that will close the eastbound Bay Bridge span for most of the day.

The Bay Bridge Run will force all traffic to use the westbound span from about 12:01 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting. One lane of traffic will operate in each direction on the westbound span. The center lane may open intermittently to reduce westbound delays.

"Motorists using the Bay Bridge on November 9 should expect significant delays throughout the day," the Maryland Transportation Authority said in a press release. "To avoid delays, motorists are urged to travel prior to 6 a.m. or after 6 p.m."
