Bay Bridge Reopens After Strong Winds Halt Traffic For 1.5 Hours
The Bay Bridge reopened after traffic was held for 1.5 hours amid strong winds. Gusts hovered around 50 mph in Annapolis.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Chesapeake Bay Bridge reopened to traffic Wednesday afternoon after strong winds halted all crossings for 1.5 hours.
The Maryland Transportation Authority initiated the full traffic hold at 1 p.m. and lifted it at 2:37 p.m.

The National Weather Service said gusts up to 48 mph were possible in Annapolis. The NWS recorded a gust at 41 mph at the U.S. Naval Academy at 1:54 p.m.
