Caught on Tape: Thieves Filmed Snatching Scooter

Annapolis police also reported parts taken from four cars at a body shop.

Annapolis police are looking for a pair sighted on surveillance video taking a scooter last week.

The theft happened last Saturday, Sept. 21 at 3:15 a.m. in the unit block of Compromise Street. Surveillance video released by police shows a man and woman pushing the black 2009 Yamaha 49cc scooter out of a business parking lot.

The scooter was recovered Thursday in the 1100 block of Frederick Douglass Street with a damaged ignition, according to police.

In a separate incident, parts were taken from four vehicles at a body shop in the 1900 block of West Street between 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. An airbag and steering wheel were taken from a Ford Mustang. All four wheels were taken off both a Honda Odyssey and Nissan Murano. An air bag and two front wheels were removed from a Scion vehicle.

The intruder broke the Scion's window, but the other cars had been left unlocked, according to police.
