Child Pornography, Sexual Extortion Prompt Anne Arundel County Arrest
A child pornography suspect was arrested in Anne Arundel County, records say. He was held without bond.

CURTIS BAY, MD — Reports said a minor tried to take their life after being sexually extorted. An Anne Arundel County man was held without bond in the child pornography case, records show.
Court records say 34-year-old Kenneth J. Schneider of Curtis Bay was held without bond on Aug. 12 by Judge Kemp Hammond.
Homeland Security Investigations launched the inquiry in June after learning about the minor's suicide attempt, a press release said. Police confirmed that the child survived.

The Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit said it served a search warrant on Aug. 9 at Schneider's home in the Chestnut Hill Cove neighborhood. Homeland Security Investigations and the Anne Arundel County Police Department also assisted with the search.
Schneider was arrested on the scene, state police said.

Court documents show that Schneider was charged with soliciting child pornography (felony), promoting/distributing child pornography (felony) and displaying obscene material to a minor (misdemeanor).
