Farmers Market Concerts + LGBTQ Hike + Paddleboarding Class: MD Events

A farmers market is hosting free jazz concerts. An LGBTQ+ hike will celebrate Pride Month at a park. Residents can also try paddleboarding.

MARYLAND — Upcoming Maryland events include free jazz concerts at a farmers market, an LGBTQ+ hike at a state park and a stand-up paddleboarding class at a museum. Other opportunities include tours of the Eastern Shore and the C&O Canal.

"BMI Farmers Market and Free Jazz Concerts

The Baltimore Museum of Industry’s Farmers’ Market is a great way to spend your Saturday mornings. Find fresh produce, oven-fresh bread, bright flowers, tasty, ready-to-eat treats, artisan items and more, all grown/made within 150 miles of the Museum. List of vendors. Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Baltimore, MD. More information. And as an added enticement to come and enjoy your shopping experience the Museum will host four free jazz concerts at the outdoor pavilion. Some seating will be available, but you are invited to bring your own chairs (and refreshments) if you like. Jazz concerts: June 17, July 15, August 19, September 23; 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m."

"Patapsco LGBTQ+ Hike

Join in an activity and hike to discover the recreational resources of Maryland. This event is specifically designed to create a safe zone for members of the LGBTQ+ community. The program will begin with an icebreaker activity of decorating tree cookies with our names and pronouns, followed by a hike on the Forest Glen Trail. "Introduction to Stand-Up Paddleboarding

When you see people paddleboarding out on the water do you find yourself thinking you’d like to give it a try, but don’t know where to begin? Then this course, offered by a partnership between Harford Community College and Havre de Grace Maritime Museum, is for you. The basics will be covered: how to get on your board, fall off and get back on again, as well as simple SUP strokes and other tips for your first outing. $70 per class includes all necessary equipment. "Far From the Madding Crowd: Paddling the Eastern Shore
