Fire Rainbow, Solar Halo Light Up Sky Around Naval Academy
A solar halo and a fire rainbow were seen over the sky at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis Monday morning.

Two atmospheric phenomena occurred at the same time in Annapolis on Monday morning, as spotted by a meteorologist.
Justin Berk, the former weatherman for Baltimore's WMAR-TV, sent a Tweet to Annapolis Patch informing us of the event.
"Double non-rainbows! Actually Solar Halo and Fire Rainbow at #USNavalAcademy Sun," Berk tweeted.
The Daily Mail recently described a fire rainbow as an, "alignment of sunlight and cloud ice particles that looks like a horizontal multicolored arc below the sun"
TheFreeDictionary.com described a solar halo as, "a luminous halo parallel to the horizon at the altitude of the sun; caused by ice crystals in the atmosphere."
