This MD Town Is One Of America's Most Beautiful: Report
Condé Nast Traveler ranked this Maryland town as one of the 26 most beautiful towns in America.
MARYLAND — Maryland has some breaktaking views across the state. But this town specifically was named one of the most beautiful in America, according to travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
That town is the gorgeous St. Michaels, which is ranked among other beautiful towns like Lake Placid, New York; Sedona, Arizona; and Nantucket, Massachusetts.
Maryland residents know that many places on the Eastern Shore are insanely beautiful, but St. Michaels is certainly special. There is an abundance of scenery in this quaint, charming, waterfront town.

The magazine said: "The charming towns and countryside of the Chesapeake Bay are pretty glorious, and you can't do much better than St. Michaels (about a 90-minute drive from Washington, D.C.). Maritime life looms large at the town's namesake museum and gorgeous harbor, while the assemblage of brightly colored shops and Victorian homes make the downtown area feel like a movie set. We wouldn’t blame you, however, if you spent your entire stay at the Inn at Perry Cabin, a nautically-themed hotel with upholstered sleigh beds, a brick-walled garden, and fresh seafood served right on grounds."
St. Michaels' harbor and some homes date back to the mid-1600s, and is home to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, where you can immerse yourself in history, said the St. Michaels Maryland Business Association.

The St. Michaels area is known for outdoor activities including sailing on historic skipjacks, kayaking, golfing and bicycling. And diners can enjoy the fare at romantic bistros to waterfront restaurants, serving fresh seafood including crab cakes, the association said.
Shoppers can explore an eclectic range of boutiques offering specialty foods, jewelry, clothing, home decor and art galleries in town. For overnight lodging, visitors can choose from B&Bs, inns and full-service hotels, or vacation rental properties.
