New Speed Cameras Debuting Near Anne Arundel County Schools

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Four new speed cameras and a relocated one will debut this week to curb speeding in Anne Arundel County school zones.

The new cameras are located at:

• Pasadena Elementary - Pasadena Road (Westbound)
• Millersville Elementary - Millersville Road (Eastbound)
• Quarterfield Elementary - Quarterfield Road (Northbound)
• Monarch Academy - Brock Bridge Road (Northbound)

The existing camera at Solley Elementary will be moved from the northbound side of Solley Road to the southbound side.

The cameras will go live Tuesday or Wednesday. Drivers will get a 15-day warning period before the cameras start issuing fines.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department launched five school zone speed cameras in June and activated another five in July.

The county now has portable speed cameras at:

• Annapolis Area Christian School (Middle School) - Bestgate Road (Westbound)
• Broadneck Elementary School - Shore Acres Road (Northbound)
• Folger McKinsey Elementary School - Arundel Beach Road (Eastbound)
• George Cromwell Elementary School - Wellham Ave. (Eastbound)
• Nantucket Elementary School - Nantucket Drive (Westbound)
• Oak Hill Elementary School - Truck House Road (Southbound)
• Odenton Elementary School - Odenton Road (Westbound)
• Shipley's Choice Elementary School - Gov. Stone Pkwy. (Northbound)
• The Key School - Hillsmere Drive (Southbound)

Six additional cameras are planned at:

• Belle Grove Elementary School - Belle Grove Road (Westbound)
• Brooklyn Park Middle School - Hammonds Lane (Westbound)
• Central Elementary School - Mayo Road and Maryland Route 214 (Northbound)
• Davidsonville Elementary School - Central Ave. W. (Westbound)
• Jessup Elementary School - Maryland Route 175
• Tracey's Elementary School - Deale Road (Westbound)
