Police Charge Annapolis Man in Stabbing Case

Annapolis police said Scotty Moss used a knife during an argument with another man Saturday.

Annapolis police have arrested a man in a stabbing that took place on Saturday evening. 

Police said they charged Scotty Moss, of the unit block of Parker Avenue, with first degree assault after learning he used a knife to attack an acquaintance during an argument. 

According to a police report, officers responded to Anne Arundel Medical Center on Saturday at about 9 p.m. and spoke with a victim who had a stab wound under his armpit and a cut on his bicep.

The victim, a 28-year-old man, said Moss confronted him near his home on Madison Street. The two men each attempted to punch the other, and then Moss pulled out a small pocket knife and stabbed the victim twice, police said. 

The victim then told police that a second man approached him and struck him in the head.

Police said the victim and Moss knew each other and that the argument stemmed from a prior dispute. 

After interviewing the victim and the victim's girlfriend, police were able to identify Moss as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. He was brought into custody at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday and charged with first-degree assault. 

Moss is being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on $400,000 bond.
