Police Investigate 2 Bike Thefts, Cite Juvenile in Third

Annapolis police are investigating two bicycle thefts, with a juvenile charged in a third.

Between 1:30 and 8 a.m. Thursday, a white Mongoose bicycle was stolen from the bed of a pickup truck in the 900 block of Breakwater Drive. An officer who responded looked for the bike and found it abandoned in the unit block of Bens Drive, according to police.

In the unit block of Chelsea Court between 9:15 p.m. Friday and 5:30 a.m. Saturday, an electric blue Next women's bicycle and a blue Huffy women's bicycle were stolen from a home's backyard, according to police.

In the 1700 block of Forest Drive at 11:50 a.m. on Saturday, an unsecured red Mongoose was taken from in front of a business. An officer found a 13-year-old boy with the bike in the 800 block of Betsy Court. The boy was given a juvenile citation for theft and destruction of property.
