Police: Man Shot in Toe Drives to Hospital
Police said they believe the man drove nearly 5 miles to the hospital after being shot.
Anne Arundel Medical Center officials contacted police after a man was found at the hospital after being shot in the foot, according to a police report.
Annapolis police said the victim, a taxi driver, was dropping off a customer in the 1100 block of Madison Street Tuesday night when he exited his vehicle to get change. He was approached by a suspect, who struck him in the face, then he was then shot in his right foot, according to the report.
Police said they believe the man drove nearly 5 miles, from Madison Street to Medical Parkway, while still bleeding from his foot.
Detectives are currently investigating the incident.
It was the second shooting that week in that same block of Madison Street, which includes the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis. On Friday, a man was shot in the arm.
