Police Report Thefts from Cars, Bike Thefts

The thefts from cars follow a string of such crimes over the weekend.

Annapolis police reported two more thefts from vehicles Thursday.

The first happened in the unit block of Dumbarton Court between 11 a.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday. Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and took an iPod from the console, according to police.

The second happened between 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the unit block of Melrob Court. Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and took a Garmin GPS from the center console, according to police.

Police also reported two bicycle thefts. Four bikes were taken from a home in the 100 block of Georgetown Road between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Police issued a lookout alert, and an officer saw a boy riding one of the missing bikes near Bens Drive. The boy was arrested and told police where he and several other juveniles hid the missing bikes, according to police.

Three bicycles were stolen in the 200 block of Boxwood Road on Wednesday between 2 and 8 p.m. Three bikes chained together were taken from a home's rear patio. The victim could not provide the bikes' makes or serial numbers, according to police.
