Police: Cars, GPS Units Stolen Over Holiday in Annapolis

Annapolis police reported a series of thefts over the long holiday weekend, including several GPS units from unlocked vehicles and two stolen cars.

July 4 at 7 a.m.: Auto Theft—In the 500 block of Royal Street, a white 2006 Ford F150 pick up truck was stolen. A spare key to the vehicle was stored inside the vehicle, police said. The truck was found unoccupied Friday in the unit block of Dorset Court after being involved in a hit and run accident on Spa Road at Old Forest Drive, police said.

July 4 at 7 p.m.: Theft from Vehicles—In the 500 block of Royal Street, a GPS unit and a case for a detachable car radio were stolen from two apparently unlocked vehicles. The case for the car radio was recovered in the area, police said.

July 4 at 10 p.m.: Theft from Vehicle—In the unit block of Tiburon Court, a GPS unit was stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle. Two other vehicles were also pilfered by suspected thieves, but nothing appeared to have been taken, police said.

July 5 at 10:30 p.m.: Thefts from Vehicles—In the 1200 block of Cedar Park Road, a GPS unit and a purse were stolen from two apparently unlocked vehicles. The purse was recovered in the area, police said.

July 5 at 7 p.m.: Auto Theft—In the 1500 block of West Street an orange 2008 Dodge Caliber was stolen, a spare key to the vehicle was stored inside the vehicle, police said. On Saturday, the vehicle was found unoccupied in the 500 block of Royal Street.

July 6 at 9 p.m.: Theft from Vehicle—In the 1200 block of Gemini Drive, money and sunglasses were stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle, police said.
