Severn Riverkeeper Calls Himself 'Crazy, Irish, Environmental Advocate'

Fred Kelly was speaking with 12 students from Dartmouth College.

Fred Kelly, the riverkeeper for the Severn River, spoke with a group of students in June about the perils facing the environment and what his work entails in a YouTube video uploaded this week.

"I am a crazy, Irish, environmental advocate. That's who I am," Kelly said, describing himself. "The bad news is that the world we're leaving you guys to take care of is in really bad shape."

Kelly was speaking with 12 students from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire who traveled more than 10,000 miles across the country in a biodiesel-powered bus.
