"We look forward to creating a home away from home for our new neighbors - for a coffee date, meeting, or a meal with friends and family," Tatte CEO Shawn Utke said in a July press release announcing the Annapolis location.
Tatte will offer handmade pastries and fresh bread. The salads, sandwiches and savory shakshuka, will pair with craft coffee, tea and sodas. The seasonal menu will feature breakfast, lunch and dinner options.
Tatte, which rhymes with "latte," is a Hebrew nickname for "grandmother."
Israeli-born Tzurit Or founded Tatte in 2007 after a 12-year career as a film producer. She started Tatte in her home kitchen, selling her creations at a Boston farmers market.
Tatte boomed in Massachusetts, opening dozens of bakeries across the state.
The company debuted in Washington, D.C. in 2020 before branching out into Virginia and Maryland.
"We are thrilled to bring Tatte's warm and inviting atmosphere to Annapolis Town Center," Utke said. "Annapolis Town Center is an ideal location for Tatte, allowing us to connect with a vibrant community."
In Annapolis, Tatte filled the space last occupied by Brio Tuscan Grille in 2020.
"Tatte Café and Bakery is going to bring the elegant sweet and savory food they are known for throughout the DC area to our residents and guests right here in Annapolis," said Catherine Brady, director of marketing and business development at the Annapolis Town Center.
