2 $1M Winning Powerball Tickets Sold At Same MD Store As Massive Jackpot Grows

Two $1 million winning Powerball tickets were sold at the same Maryland store. The jackpot for the next drawing is $1.09 billion.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Nobody hit the Powerball jackpot in the April 1 drawing, but several Marylanders scored big.

Two tickets that won $1 million each were sold at the same Annapolis convenience store.

No, this isn't an April Fool's Day joke.

The winners were sold at 7-Eleven #33378, located in Anne Arundel County at 710 Bestgate Road. It's unclear if the tickets were bought by the same player or two separate people.

The 7-Eleven will collect two $2,500 bonuses from the Maryland Lottery for selling the second-tier winners.

Another four players won $50,000 each. Those tickets were sold at:

  • High’s #064, 5655 Telegraph Road, Elkton (Cecil County)
  • Giant Eagle #1841, 1275 West Patrick Street, Frederick (Frederick County)
  • Bill’s Wine & Liquor, 7431 Annapolis Road, Hyattsville (Prince George’s County)
  • Oxon Hill Citgo, 6104 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill (Prince George’s County)

The winning numbers were 19, 24, 40, 42 and 56. The Powerball was 23.

Maryland sold 43,131 winning tickets for Monday's drawing, contributing to the 2.1 million tickets sold nationwide.

Maryland's Powerball ticket sales during the current jackpot run have contributed $9.9 million in winnings and $9.8 million in contributions to programs and services in the state.

The jackpot was last hit this New Year's Day in Michigan for $842.4 million.

In 2024, Maryland has sold five $1 million second-tier winning tickets, 19 third-tier winning tickets worth $50,000 and two Double Play winning tickets worth $50,000.

The next drawing is on Wednesday with an estimated annuity of $1.09 billion and an estimated cash value of $527.3 million. This would be the fourth-largest jackpot in Powerball history and the ninth-largest in U.S. history.

Maryland has sold three Powerball Jackpot winners:

  • $731.1 million in January 2021 (Lonaconing, Allegany County)
  • $128.8 million in December 2011 (Elkton, Cecil County)
  • $108.8 million in September 2011 (Abingdon, Harford County)
